Facility Highlights

  • Group Therapy
  • Individual Therapy
  • Experiential Therapy

Specialization

  • Holistic Therapy
Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
  • Family Program
Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.

I was admitted to Mt. Regis on May 24,2019. My private insurance covered my stay at Mt. Regis until June first. At that time, I went on Medicare. I was contacted by the financial dept. on June first and was told that the facility did not participate with Medicare and that I would have to pay the remaining balance that day, an amount over $10,000, which I paid. That hit me like a freight train. The financial adviser stated to me clearly that Mt. Regis would provide the billing information to me once I completed the program in order that I could submit it to Medicare for reimbursement. Upon completion, I was provided the billing information and the paperwork to file with Medicare. I submitted all the paperwork as advised but Medicare denied my claim. I was notified by mail from Medicare that my claim had been denied so I called Medicare and was told again that Medicare would not reimburse me for my stay at Mt. Regis. If the Mt. Regis administrators knew that Medicare would not pay for my stay in the first place, then why didn't they tell me on June first? I believe I was misled because they were afraid I would leave early.

This place might be OK for young people but not for sick or elderly geriatric patients. I did not get the type of care I needed. Had to constantly go down the hall to get vitals & meds & food or drink when I did not feel like it. The beds are just a board with a thin mattress over it. I wanted to leave. They lie to you and trick you. I had to threaten them to leave. They keep the truth from you as how to get discharged.

My son was excited at the possibility to go to Mount Regis as the final rehab step to maintain sobriety. To make sure this was the right place I called there to clarify a few points on their web page. There is a list of "things to leave home." But a pillow wasn't included. I called and they told me he could bring his own since it would guarantee a good nights sleep and prepare him for the programs. When he arrived after midnight because the driver was 5 hours late, the nurses tried to take his pillow away. Very disturbing. They allowed him to have it for the night, but the next morning they took it away saying it was the pillow or he had to leave. We live in Virginia Beach and Regis is in Roanoke 5 hours away. They didn't offer to bring him back or give him a bus ticket. They dropped him off at a mall at 10 in the morning. We drove 10 hours to pick him up because they wouldn't keep him on the property. They didn't give him his morning meds either. Dangerous! Before you send your child to this place, call them for more answers! Hope they tell you the truth! There website says to bring coins for phone calls or a calling card. Not true either. They make up rules as they go along. I guess they think once you are there you will do what they say not what is good for the patient. Absolutely awful! Thye didn't help my son's sobriety. They put it in jeopardy.
