I believe this program created motivation for me because it was very uncomfortable. There was no acupuncture, gym, nutrition, etc. The location of this program is right in the middle of a high traffic, high crime area ("D" Street) where many people in the program, including myself knew as an easy place to use. Going to D St with people from that area made clear that this is exactly why I wanted to change my lifestyle. There was constant reminders all around me of what I wanted to avoid, which I believed kept me motivated. It was a free program 4 days per week.
